Words, mere words.

Freedom has been defined many ways.

Free to say what you wish, but not about VIPs and their mistakes.
Free to trade, but not without Government/Municipal approval.
Free to do anything without malice and not to the extent of dishing out sour grapes.
Free to worship or not, but if you’re a Muslim (born, or convert) you aren’t allowed to chicken-out.
Free to move around, but not into the White House, or PM’s office in Putra Jaya, or to gate-crash any weddings.
Blah…blah…blah…

Freedom…freedom…freedom. Yeah, viva freedom!

Free to be un-free???

Reformation….Reformasi (Bahasa)…reformation…reformasi! Yeah, we want reformation!
Reformasi
This is another popular slogan you might hear all over the world. But, if you’re in Malaysia, this item is hot!

How come? I thought Malaysia is an OK Democratic country, unlike Somalia, Bosnia, Iraq, or Afghanistan.

Quite true, but not really. There’s too much freedom here. No, I don’t mean ‘freedom’ as in ‘FREEDOM’. It’s all about having too much FREE time, like having nothing better, or interesting to do…you get me?

Its all about Capitalism.

W H A T?

You don’t know anything, do you?

You’ve heard of Communism…right? Well…Capitalism is the opposite (or quite) of it. And, and…both theories came from the same author, who BTW, invented Democracy… Kapish?

…???

You see…when you have a BIG project, agenda, or whatever you have in mind, and you can’t do it, or achieve by yourself, you need others to support you to make it works. Are you with me…?

Ok, OK…

But first, you must give people a good reason/s to back you, otherwise…nobody cares. Because…you see, other people are also busy with their own ideas. You need to convince them that your project, or whatever is VERY important (to them) and NOT to yourself.

Aah…Ahh soh, desne! (Paradigm shift) Hey, you’re not only good, but smart too! Then…then…?

You’ve heard of the Mob Theory?

Don’t think so…

You sure you did’t attend any of the Reformasi rallies…?

Mmmm…yeah, but only once, or maybe twice…

Did you not shout “REFORMASI“, or wanted to, and almost did even if you didn’t…?

That’s it!

I still don’t get it… ?!

I say man, you really want me to spell it out for you…? After you’ve garnered enough numbers of support, then you instill emotions into them, and the best and most effective is…ANGER.

Why ‘anger‘ ??

You’re a real nerd! H e l l o …Do you get people to throw stones when they’re happy and jovial???

I really don’t understand what you’re saying, and I think we’d better stop as I’m thirsty for a cuppa teh-tarik…you see when I’m confused, I get thirsty. But wait, wait one last thing… you’re talking about the Government right…? or, or…the opposition??

What’s the dif…? Why are they called O P P O S I T I O N…?

Because they oppose the Govertment’s wrongs…I think…and also the right things??

Yes lah…and when their oppositions/issues got supported, and they win votes, and then guess what happens…?

They become the Government…??

What happens to THE Government…??

They become the Opposition lah…what??…you think they balik kampung, and plant banana trees…?

Hmm…funny yah…! Opposition/Government….Government/Opposition…and for first time, both also Government/Opposition…LOL!!

I say man, 2 x 5 = 5 x 2 = 10…right, or NOT…??

Do you blog about all this…??

Why…??

Nothing…just be careful…Look what happened to that Malaysiakini guy…what’s his name…Putra/Petra…?

Yeah…that’s what happens when the Government want to stem down the Opposition…AND likewise when the opposition gets to be government…

Ooh…You mean that guy’s with the Opposition…? Hey…you started with FREEDOM…but you ended up chatting about capitalism, reformasi, government, and oppositions…You only confused me…!

That’s the idea…confused freedom….GOL (grinin’ out loud)

“The abstraction of freedom has enabled us to persuade the mob in all countries that their government is nothing but the steward of the people who are the owners of the country, and that the steward may be replaced like a worn-out glove.

It is this possibility of replacing the representatives of the people which has placed them at our disposal, and, as it were, given us the power of appointment.”
